This tool needs a browser and device that expose H.264 encoding through WebCodecs. GIFs are limited to 60 seconds and 500 frames to keep memory use practical.

Is the result really MP4?

Yes. When your browser supports H.264 WebCodecs encoding, GifShaper produces an MP4 container with H.264 video rather than renaming a WebM file.

Does MP4 keep GIF transparency?

No. Standard H.264 MP4 video does not preserve GIF alpha transparency, so transparent pixels are flattened onto the background color you select.

Is the GIF uploaded?

No. GIF decoding, video encoding, and MP4 packaging happen in the browser tab.
